The Noblesville girls track & field team hosted its own invitational on Wednesday.
The Millers won the team championship, scoring 161.5 points. Westfield was the team runner-up, totaling 129 points.
Noblesville claimed five individual events, including two victories for Ainsley Meinerding. The sophomore won the 100 dash (12.62 seconds) and the long jump (18 feet, 1.5 inches). The Millers also won the 4×400 relay, with Gretchen Graham, Rylan Bell, Olivia Seefeldt and Alyssa Lahee clocking in at 4 minutes, 3.25 seconds.
Noblesville dominated the throwing events, which helped put the Millers over the top. Nyla Young and Amelia Kring went 1-2 in the shot put, then reversed the order in the discus, with Kring winning and Young placing second. Young’s best shot put throw was 38 feet, while Kring’s effort of 135 feet, 3 inches won her the discus.
The Shamrocks won three events. Katelyn Eblen swept the hurdle events, taking the 100 hurdles in 15.29 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 45.83 seconds. Jolie Miller cleared 5 feet, 3 inches to win the high jump.
