The Westfield High School Varsity Softball team welcomed Fire Chief Rob Gaylor to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before its home game on April 16, recognizing his leadership, service, and dedication to the Westfield community.
The program was honored to have Chief Gaylor take part in the evening and grateful for the many ways the Westfield Fire Department serves residents every day.
Following the first-pitch ceremony, the Shamrocks earned an exciting 7-5 victory over Harrison High School.
Reese Mahannah delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Mahannah and Makayla Watson each collected two hits.
Makenzie Delph drove in two runs while going 1-for-2 at the plate, and the Shamrocks added a defensive highlight by turning a double play.
Westfield Varsity Softball is proud to celebrate the public servants who help protect and strengthen the city while continuing to build meaningful community connections through sport.
