The Jackson Township Fire Department is developing a permanent memorial at the new fire station to honor the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
The memorial will feature steel beams from the World Trade Center, serving as a powerful and lasting tribute to the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
“This memorial is not only about remembrance, it’s about creating a place for our community to gather, reflect, and ensure that future generations never forget,” Fire Chief James Carter said.
As part of this project, the department is launching a community-wide engraved paver fundraiser, offering residents and supporters the opportunity to become a permanent part of the memorial.
Engraved pavers will surround the memorial plaza and can be personalized to honor loved ones, recognize service, or show support for the fire service.
Paver options include:
- 4-by-8-inch engraved brick: $100
- 8-by-8-inch engraved brick: $200
Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support the construction of the memorial and its surrounding plaza.
“This is a unique opportunity for members of our community to leave a lasting legacy while honoring those who gave everything,” Chief Carter said.
Order forms and additional details are available online at jacksonfire.us.
The Jackson Township Fire Department encourages community members, businesses, and organizations to participate in this meaningful project and help bring this tribute to life.
