Hamilton County leaders and community partners will officially cut the ribbon on the new Rely Center at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at the Aspire Indian Health campus, 17840 Cumberland Road, Noblesville.
The Rely Center will provide rapid triage, assessment, stabilization, and up to 23 hours of observation for individuals facing urgent mental health, substance use, or psychiatric crises. It is the result of a broad partnership among Hamilton County, Riverview Health, the Hamilton County Health Department, the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol & Other Drugs, MindWell Solutions, and Aspire Indiana Health.
County Councilman and retired Judge Steve Nation has long advocated for the facility.
“Too many individuals cycling through our courts and jails are there not because they are criminals, but because they are in crisis,” Nation said. “This center offers a new path – one focused on treatment rather than incarceration.”
The opening also marks a milestone for Aspire Indiana Health, which will operate the facility. President & CEO Antony Sheehan emphasized the importance of accessibility.
“Today we open a door to compassionate, immediate care for neighbors in crisis,” he said. “Meeting people where they are, in their moment of greatest need, is how we change lives.”
Local hospitals also expect to feel the impact. David Hyatt, President & CEO of Riverview Health, noted that emergency rooms often serve as the default destination for people in behavioral health crises.
“This specialized setting will provide the right care at the right time and help relieve congestion in emergency departments,” he said.
About the Rely Center
Funded in part by $3.5 million approved by the Hamilton County Council and Commissioners, the center will be open to everyone in need – no appointment or referral required. In addition to stabilization services, it will connect individuals to housing, employment, and other essential supports, helping residents build healthier and more stable futures.
