The Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) will welcome Indianapolis Colts linebacker Austin Ajiake as a special guest reader from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30.
Ajiake will read Carson Chooses Forgiveness, written by Tony and Lauren Dungy. The story encourages young readers about teamwork and the importance of offering second chances to learn the importance of forgiveness, kindness, and teamwork through relatable life lessons and sports themes.
“We’re grateful Austin is willing to take the time to inspire our young readers,” WWPL Executive Director Sheryl Sollars said. “Programs like this help children connect reading with positive role models and important life lessons like kindness, teamwork, and forgiveness.”
After the reading, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive discussion about the book. Ajiake will also be available for photos and autographs. The free event is open to all children and families in the community.
