The Indiana Valor’s season debut is set to begin Saturday, April 25 against the Derby City Dynamite at Louisville. This will mark the Women’s Football Alliance’s 17th season as the largest and longest running women’s tackle football league in the world. The local Indiana Valor are kicking off their second season in Division II of the WFA.
The eight-week, six-game regular season will feature three home games at Westfield’s Grand Park for fans to attend. The Home Opener will feature a matchup against the Music City Mizfits of Nashville at 7 p.m. May 2. The Openers theme: Country Night. Sponsored by Clayton’s Country Bar, Country Night will feature a Live Performance by Clayton Anderson.
Following the opener, the Valor will have a May 9 home battle against the Lansing Legacy. After a bye week, the three-game home stretch will conclude with a May 23 game against the Michigan Mercenaries of Detroit. Tickets are on sale at IndianaValorFootball.com.
Should the Valor qualify for the playoffs by the end of the regular season on June 13 and win the championship, they will have the opportunity to be promoted from Division II to Division I in the WFA, joining the Elite 15 team top division and receive the broadcasting rights on ESPN. While they are still new to the WFA scene, their goal is high: to get the promotion.
The Indiana Valor seek to embody the courageous fighting spirit of Indiana and to honor the brave veterans of Indiana’s history. The logo of a valiant eagle is inspired by Indiana’s iconic Soldiers and Sailors Monument that has Lady Victory atop it with an Eagle ready to soar on her helm. To join the fanbase is to join The Brave.
