Guerin Catholic’s boys basketball team easily won its first-round game at Class 3A Sectional 25, beating host Frankfort 81-36 at Case Arena.
The Golden Eagles outscored the Hot Dogs in each quarter, leading 17-9 after the first period. Guerin Catholic led 41-20 at halftime and 60-28 after three periods.
Three GC players reached double-digit scoring, led by Carter Murans. He scored 24 points and had a perfect night from the field, making all 11 of his attempts.
Jake Grissom added 12 points, while Sawyer Holman came off the bench to score 10 points. Will Bach contributed nine points. Hayden Rogers dished out 10 assists, while Murans led the rebounds with five.
The Golden Eagles improved to 20-5 with the win, marking their fifth 20-win season in the past six years.
Guerin Catholic will play Danville Friday in the second semifinal game, which will begin around 7:30 p.m. Lebanon takes on Brebeuf Jesuit in the first semifinal, which starts at 6 p.m.
