On Saturday, Jan. 31, Hamilton Heights faced a new opponent.
Believe Circle City is located on North Capitol Avenue in downtown Indianapolis, just north of Fall Creek Parkway, near Ivy Tech Community College. Believe is in its first season as a program and will not be eligible to play in the IHSAA state tournament in March.
The Huskies welcomed the Cyclones to northern Hamilton County with a whopping 85-20 win.
Heights started the game off with a scoring flurry. The Huskies put up 30 points to the Cyclones’ two.
Believe woke up in the second. The Huskies took the second 22-13 for a 52-15 halftime score.
The second half was similar to the first quarter. Heights ran away in the third and fourth with 33 more points to just five from BCC.
The Huskies had quite the balanced effort. Calum Engle led with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Gavin Lucchesi (13) and Rees Knapp (12) joined in double figures, while Jackson Cantlon and Hayden Spicer each scored eight and Caleb Sullivan and Will DeStefano both added six.
The win was Heights’ (8-7) eighth straight and they will travel to KIPP Indy Legacy (6-9) in downtown Indianapolis on Wednesday.
