Sheridan had a tough assignment on Tuesday, playing Class 2A Sectional 39 host Lapel.
The No. 6-ranked Bulldogs beat the Blackhawks 64-40. Lapel led 12-4 after one quarter and 27-14 at halftime. The Bulldogs outscored Sheridan 23-8 in the third quarter for a 50-22 advantage.
The Hawks made a fourth-quarter run with 18 points. Brielle Garner poured in 13 points during that period, including three 3-pointers. Sadie Timme scoring five. Garner finished the game with 22 points and four triples, while Timme scored nine.
Lapel’s Butler-bound star Laniah Willis scored 22 points.
Sheridan finished its season 9-13.
