On Sunday, Jan. 25, the IHSAA had a blind draw to decide the pairings for the 51st annual girls basketball sectionals that will take place starting on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The semifinal matchups will be on Friday, Feb. 6 and championships on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Carmel will host the Class 4A Sectional 8 tournament on Bill Shepherd Court at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
Zionsville plays the Fishers Tigers in Tuesday’s first game, followed by Westfield against Hamilton Southeastern.
Carmel drew the first bye and plays the winner of the Zionsville-Fishers game in the first Friday semifinal at 6 p.m. Noblesville drew the second bye and faces the winner of the Shamrocks and the Royals in the second semifinal.
In Class 3A Sectional 24 at Yorktown, Jay County plays New Castle in the first game on Tuesday and Hamilton Heights meets up with Connersville in the second game. Friday’s first semifinal features Delta against the Jay County-New Castle winner, followed by Yorktown versus the Huskies-Connersville winner.
Sectional 25 at Lebanon has seven teams in its field. Guerin Catholic gets a rematch with Brebeuf Jesuit in the lone game on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The two Wednesday, Feb. 4 games pit Tri-West against Danville, along with Frankfort battling host Lebanon.
The Golden Eagles-Brebeuf winner plays Crawfordsville in the first Friday semifinal. The second game on Friday pairs up the winners of the Wednesday games.
Hamilton County has a couple teams in Class 2A. Sectional 39 at Lapel is where Sheridan plays.
Elwood and Frankton play in the first game Tuesday, followed by Lapel against Sheridan.
Tipton drew the first bye and plays the Elwood-Frankton winner at 6 p.m. on Friday. The second semifinal has Taylor playing the Lapel-Sheridan winner.
Park Tudor hosts Sectional 42 where University will play.
Riverside and host Park Tudor open first at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The second game has Covenant Christian facing Cardinal Ritter.
Monrovia has the first bye and plays Riverside-Park Tudor winner in the first Friday semifinal. University drew the second bye and faces either Covenant Christian or Ritter.
