The Fishers Tigers were aiming for their second straight conference win on Friday, Jan. 23, but the host Avon Orioles had other ideas.
The Class 4A Orioles (9-13, 1-6 HCC) jumped out fast and led 25-4 after the first quarter and never relinquished the advantage to win 67-41.
Fishers (11-9, 1-5 HCC) had won three games in a row entering their Hoosier Crossroads Conference trek to Avon.
Lillian Burns paced the Tigers with a team-high nine points followed by Reagan Reiff with seven points. Natalie Thomas finished with six points.
The Orioles had three players reach double figures led by Makaylee Butts and Erika Larson with 16 points each. Elaina Narvell had 12 points. Ahlai Harris chipped in nine points.
The Tigers will look to resume their winning ways at 4A Lawrence North on Tuesday before heading to 4A Franklin Central on Friday, Jan. 30 to conclude their HCC and regular-season schedule.
