Fishers’ girls took control during the middle quarters of their home game with Carmel on Tuesday and held on for a 54-47 victory.
The Greyhounds jumped out to a 15-10 lead after the first quarter. Catherine Bassi scored seven points and Taylee Fisher added six points; both made three 3-pointers.
The Tigers bounced back in the second period, pouring in 20 points for a 30-26 halftime lead. Ella Burleson drained three 3s for nine points, while Makayla Triplett contributed six points.
Fishers further extended its lead in the third quarter, holding a 47-34 advantage going into the fourth. Reagan Reiff scored seven points, with Triplett adding six more points.
Carmel’s Bassi scored seven points in the fourth, part of a 13-point quarter for the Hounds. But Fishers held on for the win.
Triplett finished the game with 16 points, while Burleson had 12 points. Bassi also totaled 16 points.
Fishers is 10-8 and plays a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game Friday at Avon, part of a girls-boys doubleheader. Carmel is 8-9 and plays Friday at Pike.
