The Carmel swim teams celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, Jan. 3 during their dual meet with Hamilton Southeastern. The Greyhounds won the girls meet 111-75 and the boys meet 144-39.
Carmel’s girls won eight of the 12 events. Ellie Clarke was a double winner in the 100 freestyle and the backstroke. Other event winners for the Greyhounds were Madelyn Yonkus in the 200 freestyle, Leah DeBosch in the individual medley, Helena Gibson in diving, Molly Sweeney in the butterfly, Helayna Weller in the 500 free and the 200 free relay.
The Royals’ Naomi Haines was the 50 free winner, while Lauren Ing triumphed in the breaststroke. Southeastern also won the medley and 400 free relays.
Yi Zheng was a double winner for Carmel’s boys, who won all 12 events. Zheng placed first in the butterfly and backstroke events.
Other Greyhounds winners were Austin Bruford in the 200 free, Noah Moeller in the IM, Trent Allen in the 50 free, Alrik Mansberger in diving, Jack Street in the 100 free, Lewis Zhang in the 500 free, Cory Han in the breaststroke and all three relays.
