The Hamilton Southeastern boys basketball team got a nice win over North Central 62-53 Tuesday at the Royals’ gym.
Southeastern led 12-10 after the first quarter and 29-22 at halftime. Lucas Weemer scored eight points in the second quarter, while Varschon Clark had eight points in the half, four in each of the quarters.
The Royals led 42-36 after three periods and went on a 15-6 run to start the fourth, holding their largest lead at 57-42. The Panthers made a comeback during the latter part of the quarter, but Southeastern held on for the win. The Royals were perfect from the free-throw line, making all 11 of their attempts.
Clark led HSE with 15 points, scoring in all four quarters, and reached double-double status by collecting 10 rebounds. Clark also dished out seven assists. Maverick Young and Weemer both scored 14 points, with Weemer pulling five rebounds. Jack Jacobs handed out five assists.
Southeastern is 4-6 and plays Friday at Lawrence Central.
