The Noblesville boys basketball team won its annual Holiday Tournament on Tuesday with two easy victories.
In the morning semifinals, the Millers cruised past Evansville Reitz 72-43. Noblesville started fast, zooming to a 23-4 lead after the first quarter. The Millers led 40-22 at halftime and put up another 32 points in the second half to earn a place in the championship game.
Noblesville’s two Division I commits both had outstanding games. Baron Walker, headed to Butler University, poured in 31 points, while Valparaiso commit Justin Curry II scored 26 points. Both players collected eight rebounds and Walker dished out six assists.
The Millers took care of business in the championship game with a 51-30 win over Gary 21st Century. Noblesville led 18-8 after one quarter, then shut out the Cougars 13-0 in the second period for a 31-8 halftime lead.
Curry was the leading scorer with 18 points, followed by Walker with 15 points. Max Flanagan made three 3-pointers for nine points.
Curry collected nine rebounds, while Dylan Knaga pulled seven rebounds. Walker collected six and Luke Fogg had five. Walker dished out four assists.
The Millers are 4-4 and are idle until Jan. 2 when they host Warren Central.
