Sheridan Youth Assistance Program (SYAP), Mama’s Cupboard, and the Sunflower Pantry of Sheridan United Methodist Church work together to support Sheridan families during the holiday season.
Sheridan families with children 18 and under in their households as well as senior citizen households may apply for the program and request assistance for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Through this program, more than 120 households received food to make a Thanksgiving meal that was distributed on Nov. 22. From Dec. 6 to 13, over 130 households received gifts, hygiene products, homemade goodies, and food gift cards for their Christmas and holiday celebrations in December.
SYAP and its partners are grateful for the donors and sponsors who ensure this program happens. Secret Families of Hamilton County, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Shop for Kids, Six Points Church, Fuel Church, and the HOA of Osbourne Trails sponsored multiple families this year. Other sponsors include local families, churches, businesses, and even high school groups who provide gifts for a family and make sure everyone has a great Christmas.
The Sheridan Lions Club, along with Sheridan Community Schools and community volunteers make sure distribution happens with their wonderful community and Christmas spirit. Thank you to all who play a part and have a wonderful holiday season.
