Westfield Washington Schools (WWS) announces that Scott Chambers has been named the next principal of Carey Ridge Elementary School, effective Feb. 2, 2026.
Chambers’ hiring was approved by the WWS School Board at the Dec. 9 meeting.
With 27 years of experience in education, Chambers brings a wealth of leadership expertise grounded in student-centered practices, community partnership, and relationship building. He has served as a principal for 22 years across multiple districts, including Spencer-Owen Community Schools, Greenwood Community Schools, Hamilton Southeastern Schools, and, most recently, Reagan Elementary School in Brownsburg Community School Corporation, where he was principal for 12 years.
Chambers currently serves as the Executive Director of Team and Family Experience at K1ds Count Therapy, where he oversees care coordination and services for families whose children have autism. His work reflects a deep commitment to supporting all learners and strengthening family engagement – values that align closely with the mission of Westfield Washington Schools.
Reflecting on his new role, Chambers said, “Westfield is an amazing community that is filled with wonderful pride and energy. I am very excited to help care for the children of Carey Ridge Elementary School, learn about our parents and families, and partner with the terrific staff that I have heard a great deal about.”
Looking towards the transition period early next year, Andy Hilton, current Principal at Carey Ridge and future principal of Westfield Elementary School (to be renamed), said, “Scott will be an excellent addition to the WWS community and, more specifically, as the new leader for our Carey Ridge family. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time as principal here, and while we all navigate these upcoming changes, I’m confident that with Scott, Carey Ridge students, staff, and families are in good hands.”
A devoted husband and father, Chambers enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. He and his wife, Betsy, a kindergarten teacher in Avon Community Schools, have two daughters. Their oldest graduated from Grace College in 2024 and is married, while their youngest is a sophomore at Purdue University. As a family, they love CrossFit, fishing, hunting, and making memories together – especially at the lake and at Disney.
WWS looks forward to welcoming Scott Chambers and is grateful for the experience, energy, and heart he will bring to Carey Ridge Elementary School.
