Hamilton County had two participants Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Sneakers for Santa tournament at Brownsburg.
Noblesville played first and lost a tough game to Lawrence North 58-51. Fishers played the final game of the day and beat Mt. Vernon 57-48.
The Tigers held a 14-11 advantage over the Marauders after one quarter, with Jason Gardner Jr. scoring eight points. Fishers increased its lead to 30-21 by halftime; Cooper Zachary nailed two 3-pointers.
The game was even in the second half, with both teams scoring 27 points. The Tigers stayed in front thanks to 10 points from Gardner and eight points from Zachary during the half.
Gardner finished with 20 points, while Zachary scored 15. Kai McGrew had 10 points; he and Gardner scored in each period.
The Millers were ahead 11-8 after one quarter and still held a 26-24 advantage at halftime. But the Wildcats took the lead in the third period, outscoring Noblesville 15-7 and held on to that lead during the fourth quarter.
Justin Curry II scored 20 points for the Millers, while Baron Walker added 15 points. Adam Fine collected five rebounds and Curry made six steals.
Fishers is 4-0 and plays Penn Saturday night at the Southport Tip-off Classic. Noblesville is 1-3 and travels to Carmel on Friday.
