Fishers ran away to victory in its Hoosier Crossroads Conference opener on Friday, Dec. 5.
The Tigers used a strong second half to beat Noblesville 56-40 in front of a packed crowd at the Tiger Den. It was also the first HCC game of the season for the Millers.
Fishers led 14-13 after the first quarter, with four different Tigers players scoring three points. Justin Curry II led Noblesville in that period with six points.
The Millers surged ahead in the second period for a 25-22 halftime lead. Max Flanagan drained three 3-pointers during that quarter, adding to the triple he made in the opening period for 12 first-half points.
But Fishers took over in the third quarter, outscoring Noblesville 20-7. Jason Gardner Jr. scored six points in the third, then added eight more in the fourth period. Gardner led all scorers with 20 points.
Cooper Zachary had 13 points, including three 3s. Both he and Gardner scored in each quarter.
Curry was the Millers’ top scorer with 19 points, also getting points in each period. Flanagan was next with his 12 points.
