Westfield’s girls improved to 2-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference play Saturday, Nov. 29 by winning an overtime game at Franklin Central 59-57.
The Shamrocks built a 29-25 lead by halftime. Audra Parker scored 10 points while Gabby Bassett contributed eight points; both made two 3-pointers.
The Flashes stormed ahead in the third quarter, outscoring Westfield 14-3 for a 39-32 lead. But the Rocks came back in the fourth, pouring in 20 points to tie the game at 52-52. Lillian Clark nailed two 3s during the fourth quarter.
Parker made her third triple of the game in the extra period, then Westfield scored its other points from the free-throw line. Clark and Bassett both made two foul shots to help clinch the win.
The Shamrocks are 5-3 overall and play at Brebeuf Jesuit on Thursday.
