The Noblesville boys basketball team began the season with an all-county victory at Hamilton Heights on Wednesday.
The Millers won 62-41. The Huskies came out strong, leading 19-12 after the first quarter. Jackson Mikesell scored 10 points for Heights. Baron Walker scored eight points for Noblesville.
The Millers cut into the Huskies’ lead in a low-scoring second quarter, and were within 25-20 at halftime. Noblesville took over in the second half, outscoring Heights 42-16.
Justin Curry poured in 11 points in the third quarter for the Millers, who led 41-36 going into the fourth. Max Flanagan added 11 points in the fourth period, while Noblesville’s defense held the Huskies to five points.
Walker led the way with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Curry scored 15 points and Flanagan totaled 14 points. Curry led the rebounds with six, Adam Fine dished out four assists and Walker made four steals.
Mikesell led the Huskies with 16 points and five rebounds, while Jack Kakasuleff had 11 points and five assists.
Noblesville hosts Plainfield on Saturday afternoon. Heights’ next game is Friday, Dec. 5 when it hosts New Castle.
