On Tuesday, Nov. 18, area managers and employees from Everwise Credit Union visited Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank (HCHFB). Representatives toured the facility, spoke with leaders and volunteers, and presented a $10,000 check to the organization.
Food bank utilization has been especially heavy this fall, according to HCHFB Executive Director Suzanna Hobson. The food bank’s partner pantries across Hamilton County are seeing an increase in usage of 50 to 80 percent.
“Many pantry visitors are working individuals, some working multiple jobs, but with the delay in SNAP benefits, accompanied with higher prices in the stores and just the overall cost of living, many need help in providing food for their families,” Hobson said. “We are grateful for the support of Everwise to help us provide for our community.”
This is Everwise’s fourth year of supporting local banks and food pantries with over $100,000 donated statewide.
“Here at Everwise Credit Union, we’re incredibly proud to support our local food banks and pantries,” President and CEO Jason M. Osterhage said. “It’s not just about giving money; it’s about providing nourishment, hope, and a sense of community.”
