Thank you to everyone who joined the Carmel Fire Department and VFW Post 10003 for the third annual “Everyone Deserves Their Morning Sun” Movember Kick-Off held Saturday morning, Nov. 1.
It was a beautiful morning, a powerful message … and yes, there’s truly no more iconic spot in Carmel to have these conversations than this roundabout.
The speakers brought courage, hope, humor, and true vulnerability to this conversation about men’s health. Pastor Dave Choutka grounded attendees with reflection, Dr. Stephanie Gardner brought important medical insight, Callagher Chaffin shared the heart and support of the veteran community, and a special thank you to City Councilor Rich Taylor for opening up and sharing his personal story. Moments like that are what make this event matter.

This month is about checking in, getting screened, paying attention to changes, and taking care of your mental wellbeing, not just in November, but all year long.
Every $5 donated will be represented by a blue flag placed at the Morning Sun roundabout at the intersection of North Range Line Road, Lowes Way, and Clay Terrace Blvd.
You are encouraged to join in raising funds and awareness. You can support the cause by donating in someone’s name or helping to spread the message.
