Indiana University Health opened a new medical tower on the IU Health Fishers campus on Thursday, Oct. 30.
The medical tower houses a range of essential departments and specialized units, including Mammography, Breast Surgery, Endocrine Surgical Services, an outpatient OB-GYN suite, a Labor and Delivery unit, Special Care Nursery, Medical-Surgical Inpatient unit and more.
“Our team is proud to open this new medical tower, a centerpiece of our hospital expansion and a reflection of our commitment to the Fishers community,” said Soula Banich, regional vice president and chief operations officer at IU Health Fishers. “This milestone represents years of planning, collaboration and growth. We’ve welcomed exceptional new talent to our team, expanded our capabilities and remained focused on delivering outstanding care. I’m deeply grateful to every team member who helped bring this vision to life.”

The opening of the tower marks completion of IU Health’s Fishers Community Impact Project, which nearly doubles the size of the IU Health Fishers campus and workforce and enhances healthcare access and services in what has become one of the fastest growing areas in the state – Fishers and the northeast suburbs of Indianapolis. The hospital expansion added:
- 50 inpatient beds, bringing the total to 88.
- Riley Children’s Health Emergency medicine services, including a dedicated pediatric emergency unit adjacent to the existing Emergency department.
- New and expanded services in Obstetrics & Gynecology; Ear, Nose & Throat; Nephrology; Neurology, and Pulmonology.
- Growth of existing specialty programs in Cardiovascular, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Primary Care (pediatric and adult) and Urology.
- Expansion of support services space to accommodate additional staff and patients.
“The new medical tower is an investment in the health and vibrancy of a community we are proud to serve,” said Michele Saysana, MD, president of IU Health’s Metro Region. “The Fishers Community Impact Project as a whole was designed with the growing needs of the community in mind – expanding access to quality healthcare and ensuring families continue to receive highly skilled care close to home.”
In addition to significant expansion of the IU Health Fishers campus and services, the Fishers Community Impact Project added offsite, outpatient access to primary care and specialists in McCordsville and Fishers. The project also included a renaming of IU Health Saxony Hospital to IU Health Fishers, which occurred in June 2025.
