During October, The Reporter recognizes Domestic Violence Prevention Month by “Going Purple” with Prevail, Inc. As a Hamilton County-based nonprofit, Prevail advocates for victims of crime and abuse. Everyone is invited to take part in the “Go Purple” campaign by wearing purple and letting victims know they aren’t alone.
This year, Meijer stepped up in a big way, donating $10,000 so the good people at Prevail can continue helping those who need it most.
“My team and I are proud to live and work within a city where resources, like those offered through Prevail Inc., are accessible,” Meijer Senior Communications Manager Susan Nemes said. “Any survivor, whether a neighbor, coworker, friend, or family member, needs a community that rebuilds their sense of trust and helps them in their path as they move forward. We’re grateful to be able to support the vital role that this organization plays throughout Noblesville and Hamilton County.”
Prevail Executive Director Tami Wanninger told The Reporter this generous donation could not have come at a more appropriate time.
“Prevail is deeply grateful to Meijer for their generous gift in support of our mission to serve victims of crime and abuse,” Wanninger said. “This contribution is especially meaningful during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors and inspire action. Meijer’s commitment to building safer, stronger communities reflects the spirit of this month and reminds us that lasting change takes all of us. We invite others to join Meijer in giving, helping ensure vital services remain available to survivors.”
