The Cicero Touch-A-Truck was a huge success. This is the second year and it was even bigger and better than last year.
This event was organized by Lauren Muehl with the Cicero Fire Department and Cicero Friends of the Park.
A special shoutout to Lauren Muehl, Lisa Stokes, Jackie Hayden, and Matt Dotson who helped coordinate this event and Cicero Friends of the Park who donated hotdogs, snow cones, chips, cookies, and face painting.
Chief Darren Collar manned the ladder truck, John DeCamp (Retired) even came out to help with the Studebaker and ladder truck, and thank you to Dennis Kinder for getting the Studebaker out to the event.
The parking lot was packed … some kids and parents stayed all three hours! We had many compliments, and kids made out like bandits with all the swag they received from all the participants.
Our participants included:
- Cicero Fire Department
- Cicero Police Department
- Officer Simon
- Town of Cicero Street Department
- Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office
- Boldens Cleaning and Restoration
- Dustin Dixon for Sheriff
- Friends of the Park
- Haunted Trails Cicero
- Owen’s Welding and Fabrication (race car)
- Jurassic Park Jeep and Truck
- Elite Plumbing
- Paddacks Towing
- 2nd Shift Garage Door Company
- Polaris Home Services and Construction
- Lunar Companies
- Republic Trash Service
- Indianapolis Dumpster Services
It wasn’t all fire trucks and police cruisers at this year’s Cicero Touch-A-Truck, oh no! As you can see here, kids were able to get up close to all kinds of interesting vehicles. (Photos provided by Emily Pearson)
