Hamilton Heights School Corporation announces that Mariyah Sexton, a senior at Hamilton Heights High School, has been selected as a College Board BigFuture Ambassador, a prestigious honor that marks a first for the district.
Sexton’s acceptance into the national program places her among a select group of student leaders across the country who are committed to helping their peers navigate life after high school. As a BigFuture Ambassador, she will serve as a resource and role model, sharing tools and opportunities that support college and career planning.
The BigFuture Ambassador Program, created by the College Board, empowers students in grades 9 through 12 to lead outreach efforts in their schools. Ambassadors use social media, peer engagement, and digital platforms to promote resources like scholarship opportunities, college search tools, and career exploration guides. They also provide real-time feedback to improve the BigFuture experience for students nationwide.
Sexton will participate in virtual meetings, collaborate with other ambassadors across the country, and gain valuable communication and leadership skills, all while helping her classmates take meaningful steps toward their futures.
Her involvement also aligns with Hamilton Heights’ commitment to career readiness and student empowerment, core values reflected in initiatives like Reaching New Heights, which ensures students have access to real-world learning and leadership opportunities.
Congratulations to Mariyah Sexton on this outstanding achievement. The Hamilton Heights communities looks forward to seeing the impact she’ll make as a BigFuture Ambassador and the inspiration she’ll bring to her peers.
