Westfield won the Midland Rail Trophy game over Noblesville Friday, Sept. 12, 41-7 in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Riverview Health Stadium.
The Shamrocks led 27-0 at halftime. Deacon King scored the game’s first touchdown on a two-yard run, then Broc Parker caught a 13-yard touchdown throw from Cooper Melvin to put Westfield up 14-0.
Diego Herrera kicked both extra points, then booted a pair of field goals, including a 22-yard kick right before halftime. In between, Melvin threw his second touchdown pass of the game, a 17-yard toss to Andrew Noble.
Parker scored again in the third quarter with a three-yard touchdown run, then Hunter Snow caught Melvin’s third TD throw of the night, another 17-yarder. Melvin finished the game 12-of-15 for 137 yards. Aiden Grabowski went 7-for-7 passing, compiling 125 yards.
King gained 146 yards rushing, while Parker and Snow both had five receptions.
The Millers’ Nick Morris caught a touchdown pass from Windsor Hutchins in the fourth quarter. Aiden Kincaide had 20 tackles (four solo, 16 assists), while Praise Oladipupo made 12 tackles (four solo, eight assists). Westfield’s Olumide Fapetu had five tackles (four solo, one assist).
Westfield is 2-0 in HCC play and 3-1 overall, while the Millers are 0-2 in the league and 1-3 overall. The Shamrocks travel to Hamilton Southeastern this Friday, with Noblesville hosting Zionsville.
