Shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, Hamilton County Public Safety Communications received multiple 911 calls reporting a house fire in the 400 block of James Avenue in Noblesville.
Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) and Noblesville Police Department (NPD) units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The first crews to arrive found smoke coming from the home. During a primary search, firefighters from Ladder 73 located and safely rescued one dog from the home. At the same time, a second crew located the fire and quickly brought it under control.
The homeowner was not home during the incident. Fortunately, civilians, firefighters, and pets were not injured. NFD was assisted on the scene by NPD. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
NFD reminds residents that working smoke detectors save lives. If you need assistance changing your smoke detectors or replacing batteries, NFD firefighters can help. Please email thash@noblesville.in.gov to schedule an appointment.
