Noblesville firefighters save woman from burning home

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) was dispatched by Hamilton County Public Safety Communications to a reported residential structure fire with entrapment in the 3000 block of Cicero Road.

Neighbors alerted emergency services after observing smoke coming from the residence. While en route, first-arriving units observed a visible column of smoke and immediately upgraded the incident to a working fire.

Upon arrival, crews encountered one resident outside the home suffering from burn injuries. That individual was evaluated by emergency medical personnel and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Firefighters faced difficult conditions while conducting a primary search of the residence. Crews successfully located a second resident who was trapped inside the home and removed her to safety. She was also transported to a local hospital for treatment. A total of two occupants were transported as a result of the incident.

The fire caused significant damage to the residence, resulting in the displacement of the occupants. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Noblesville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Cicero Fire Department, Jackson Township Fire Department, and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
