The Class 4A Hamilton Southeastern Royals were hot from the start and never cooled off Tuesday night to defeat Class A Indianapolis Metropolitan, 94-66.
HSE improved to 10-9 overall behind a quartet of double-digit scorers led by senior Landon Osswald’s team-high 19 points.
The Royals opened their home contest with a 27-10 lead after the first quarter and surged ahead 43-29 by halftime. HSE shot 61 percent from the floor (44-for-72) and tallied 32 points off turnovers to build a 28-point advantage in a game they controlled wire-to-wire.
The victory extended HSE’s winning streak to three straight and involved 12 different players providing at least two points apiece.
Sophomore Varschon Clark had 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Osswald added two rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Senior Jack Jacobs supplied 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior Luke Weemer finished with 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks. Senior Maverick Young chipped in eight points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The HSE bench poured in 29 points with both senior Kian Kelly and junior Alex Weber pacing the group with six points each.
