The Sheridan boys scored an overwhelming win to finish the regular season, beating Traders Point Christian 90-37 Thursday at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Blackhawks outscored the Knights in each of the four quarters, starting with a 28-8 lead after one period. Trey Page, Hamilton County’s newest member of the 1,000-point club, was on fire in that quarter, pouring in 16 points. Page made four 3-pointers during that time. Devon Hamilton and Chance Spencer both scored six points.
Sheridan’s lead reached 50-23 by halftime. Brock Hagan had seven points in the second quarter. The Hawks poured in another 22 points in the third period for a 72-31 advantage, instituting a running clock.
Page added eight more points in the third for his game-high 24 points. Hamilton scored another eight points; he added two more in the fourth to give him 16 points.
The Sheridan bench stepped up, with Landon Moffitt and Brayden Whisman both scored nine points. Spencer totaled eight points and Hagan had seven. Twelve different Blackhawks scored during the game.
John Crowder led the rebounds with eight, followed by six each for Spencer and Hagan. Jax Peerman dished out seven assists.
Sheridan is 18-4 and will play at the Elwood sectional next week. The Blackhawks drew the bye and will play a Friday, March 6 semifinal against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Tipton and Taylor.
