Guerin Catholic’s boys picked up their seventh consecutive victory on Tuesday, beating New Palestine 72-61 at The Nest.
The Golden Eagles led 20-12 after one quarter, then extended that margin to 25-12 early in the second period for their largest lead of the night. The Dragons came back by halftime, cutting Guerin Catholic’s lead to 31-26 by halftime.
The Golden Eagles held on to a 45-44 advantage after three periods, but turned it on in the fourth, pouring in 27 points to get the victory.
Jake Grissom had an outstanding night, scoring 37 points. Grissom and Alex Wall both collected six rebounds, with Andrew Reithman pulling five rebounds. Hayden Rogers added 12 points and dished out four assists.
Guerin Catholic improved to 15-5 with the win and plays Monday at Shortridge.
