The Fishers Community Center (FCC), Strengthened by IU Health, launched insurance-based memberships on Monday, Feb. 9, making it easier than ever for qualifying individuals to stay active, healthy, and connected through an insurance-funded Adult Membership.
Participating programs include SilverSneakers, Renew Active, Silver&Fit, Prime, and Active&Fit Enterprise.
Insurance-based memberships provide the same access and benefits that regular members receive, including full access to the fitness center and more than 90 group exercise classes; aquatics facility, including an on-deck sauna; sports courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball; and more.
Membership fees are processed directly through the member’s insurance, and no monthly or join fees are paid directly to FCC by the member.
“These partnerships remove financial barriers to wellness and open the door for more people to experience everything this new facility has to offer,” FCC Director Mike Lindbloom said. “From fitness and aquatics to social connection and mental wellbeing, our goal is to help every member of our community thrive.”
The 105,000 square-foot FCC opened last fall off Hoosier Road. Along with member-only spaces, the facility features free amenities like the city’s first public indoor walking track, Sahm’s Community Café, and a two-story indoor playground, Strengthened by Riley Children’s Health. FCC is also home to the Fishers Health Department clinic, which offers COVID, flu, and travel vaccinations, testing, and other preventive care.
Registration must be completed in person during normal business hours. For additional support, the FCC membership team will host registration office hours through Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Community Room and Program Room 1 at the FCC.
