The second step of the IHSAA boys wrestling state tournament takes place Saturday with the regional round.
Five county teams will compete at North Montgomery after qualifying out of the Frankfort sectional. Westfield won the team championship at Frankfort on Saturday, Jan. 31.
Carmel qualified 12 wrestlers into the regional, with Hamilton Southeastern advancing 10. The Shamrocks and Fishers both sent nine wrestlers to the regional, with Sheridan’s Alexander Cravens also qualifying.
The other three county teams will participate in the Pendleton Heights regional. Noblesville dominated the Elwood sectional, winning with 327.5 points and qualifying all 14 of its wrestlers out to Pendleton Heights.
Hamilton Heights qualified six wrestlers to the regional, with Guerin Catholic advancing four.
