Sheridan’s girls split a pair of Hoosier Heartland Conference games to finish their regular season last weekend.
On Friday, Jan. 30, the Blackhawks beat Taylor 55-10 at Larry Hobbs Hall. Sheridan led 20-2 after one quarter and 36-5 at halftime.
Eleven different players scored for the Hawks, led by Marah Faucett’s 14 points. Sadie Timme and Olivia Long both added eight points, with Brielle Garner scoring seven.
Sheridan dropped its regular-season finale Saturday, Jan. 31 at Clinton Central, 45-41.
The Bulldogs led 6-4 after the first quarter and 16-11 at halftime. The Hawks stayed in it, cutting CC’s lead to 29-25 after three periods, with Timme scoring seven points in that quarter. Both teams scored 16 points in the fourth, allowing the Bulldogs to get the win.
Timme scored 14 points, followed by Faucett with nine. Garner and Long each totaled eight points.
Sheridan finished conference play 4-4 and is 9-12 overall. The Blackhawks play Sectional 39 host Lapel in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday.
