The Fishers boys stayed perfect for the season by beating St. Louis Cardinal Ritter 61-37 Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Highland (Ill.) Optimist Shootout.
The Tigers led 14-7 after one period, with Cooper Zachary and Kai McGrew both scoring five points. Fishers surged in the second quarter, pouring in 18 points for a 32-13 halftime lead. McGrew added eight more points in that period.
The third quarter was more of the same, as Fishers led 50-26 going into the fourth. McGrew scored seven more points in the third and made a free throw in the fourth period, so he scored in each quarter. McGrew finished with 21 points and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Zachary totaled 11 points, draining three 3s. Levi Walker and Ethan Hillsman both finished with 10 points.
Fishers is 12-0 and hosts Brownsburg Friday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference girls-boys doubleheader.
