Are you interested in gaining a deeper understanding of how the Sheriff’s Office serves your community? The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Citizens Academy offers a unique opportunity to explore the vital work performed by deputies and corrections officers every day.
Beginning Thursday, March 12, classes will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. over the course of 11 weeks, with a graduation ceremony in week 12. This comprehensive program is designed for people who want to learn more about law enforcement operations and the role the Sheriff’s Office plays in public safety.
Participants will engage directly with HCSO personnel, take part in hands-on learning experiences, and gain insight into the various divisions and specialized units within the Sheriff’s Office. Topics include policing strategies, crime prevention, and interactive simulated scenarios that provide a realistic look at daily operations.
The Citizens Academy fosters transparency, education, and positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. Attendees will leave with a greater appreciation for both the challenges and accomplishments experienced by our deputies and corrections officers.
Whether you are a student (at least 18 years old), citizen of Hamilton County, a community leader, or simply someone interested in learning more and making a positive impact, the HCSO Citizens Academy welcomes you.
