The Millers hit the road Wednesday night at Cathedral and it was a test from start to finish. It was two fast-paced teams aiming to keep momentum going in a pivotal part of the season.
The host Irish were able to find a way late in double overtime to outlast the Millers, 69-68.
Noblesville led 12-10 after one quarter, but Cathedral took the second (9-7) for a 19-19 tie at halftime.
After a back-and-forth third, the Irish had a 36-35 lead heading to the fourth.
The Millers were able to tie it 51-51 in the final seconds of regulation to send it to overtime.
The two speedy squads were knotted 59-59, sending to the second extra frame.
Noblesville had a 68-67 lead late, but a turnover allowed Cathedral to score with 3.9 seconds left to hold on for the win.
Sophomore Maia Blower led the Millers with a career-high 24 points. She also grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists. Classmate Aleah Magee also scored a career-best 15, while senior Ally Hutchinson scored 14 and pulled down seven boards.
Noblesville (7-7) next visits former Hoosier Crossroads Conference foe Lafayette Jeff (11-4) on Jan. 13.
