Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance announces that Mike Lucado has been promoted to director of investments. He assumed the role that was previously held by Kent Deeter, who recently retired after nearly 18 of service to the company. Lucado began his new role on Jan. 1, 2026.
Lucado joined Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance in 2012 as a portfolio manager. He was promoted to senior portfolio manager in 2020. Prior to joining the company, he held investment roles with Old Republic International in Chicago and CNO Financial Group in Carmel. In his new role, Lucado will be responsible for managing the company’s investment portfolio.
“I’m looking forward to working with an incredible team of professionals as we execute on the vision of growth for our companies,” Lucado said. “My goal is to maintain financial strength through sound investment decisions. That will allow us to continue supporting the needs of our members and the communities we serve.”
A graduate of the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business, Lucado earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in finance and economics and minored in religious studies. He also received a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder credential from the CFA Institute.
Lucado is originally from Downers Grove, Ill., and now lives in Carmel with his wife, Becca, and their two children, Betty and Carter. He is an active member at St. Luke Catholic Church in Indianapolis, where he has coached youth basketball for many years. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, spending time with family and friends, and tackling home DIY projects.
