The Hamilton County Democratic Party successfully completed its fifth consecutive year participating in the “Adopt a Family” holiday giving program. This year’s effort brought together Democrats from across Hamilton County to support local families in need during the holiday season.
The party partnered with Firefly Children and Family Alliance’s Hope for the Holidays program, sponsoring seven children from Indianapolis and surrounding counties. Through generous donations and coordinated community support, volunteers fulfilled every item on each child’s wish list, along with additional gifts to help make the holidays even brighter.
“This effort truly reflects the heart of our party,” said Molly Pearcy, who has coordinated the donations for the last five years.
Party Chair Josh Lowry emphasized the growing need for community support this holiday season.
“Families are struggling more than ever this year due to delays in SNAP benefits and the rising cost of living impacting Hoosiers across our state,” Lowry said. “At a time when too many households are being stretched to the breaking point, it’s more important than ever that we show up for one another and make sure children can still experience joy during the holidays.”
Pearcy will deliver all donated items to Firefly’s downtown Indianapolis location, ensuring gifts reach families in time for the holidays.
The Hamilton County Democratic Party thanks all volunteers and donors who helped continue this meaningful tradition of service, compassion, and community care.
