Guerin Catholic’s boys overcame a shaky start to win an overtime game at Tri-West 72-64. on Friday, Jan. 16.
The Bruins led 11-2 after the first quarter and were up 28-17 at halftime. Tri-West held the game’s largest lead in the third period at 37-23 before the Golden Eagles began their comeback.
Guerin Catholic cut the Bruins’ lead to 45-38 by the end of the third quarter, then poured in 19 points to tie the game at 57-57 by the end of regulation. The Golden Eagles outscored Tri-West 15-7 in the extra period.
Jake Grissom led the scoring with 26 points, while Luke Keller and Hayden Rogers both had 12 points. Keller collected eight rebounds, followed by seven for Rogers, who also dished out eight assists.
