The Fishers girls took a road trip to Washington (the Southern Indiana city) on Friday, Dec. 26 to play Heritage Hills.
The Tigers came home with a 48-39 win over the Patriots, who are receiving votes in the latest Class 3A poll. Fishers evened its record to 7-7 with the victory.
The game was tied at 12-12 after the first quarter, but the Tigers dominated the second quarter, outscoring Heritage Hills 16-4 to take a 28-16 halftime lead. Reagan Reiff hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter, while Makayla Triplett scored five in that period. Ella Burleson and Alanna Anthony both scored five points in the first quarter.
Fishers moved ahead 38-24 after three quarters, then held off a late comeback by the Patriots in the fourth. Burleson poured in 11 points during the second half; she led the Tigers with 16 points. Triplett and Natalie Thomas both finished with seven points.
Fishers will play in the Chicago Invitational on Friday at Naperville North High School. The Tigers play New Trier at 11:30 a.m. and Mother McAuley (Chicago) at 4 p.m.
