Thanks to the hard work of Boy Scout Troop 112 and the Carmel Lions Club, 400 boxes of food have been packed and are now ready for delivery this Saturday, Dec. 13. Each delivery will include pantry staples, a special holiday meal, and thoughtfully chosen presents for the children of nearly 200 Carmel Clay families.
Since 1967, the Carmel Fire Auxiliary has been committed to supporting families in need. The Community Assistance Program (CAP) is the longest-running initiative of both the Auxiliary and the Carmel Fire Department, and this year marks our largest effort yet. We are able to grow and sustain this program because of the extraordinary generosity of the Carmel community. Donations are collected year-round, and we are continually grateful for the neighbors, businesses, and volunteers whose contributions and hard work make CAP possible.
A special thank-you goes to Kristin and Lauren Dufek for organizing our annual BINGO fundraiser, which was so successful this year that it enabled us to serve even more families. In addition, many community members sponsor families directly, purchasing and wrapping gifts for the children. Those presents are dropped off at our training facility, where the spirit of giving fills every corner.
This Saturday at 9 a.m., volunteers will gather at the Carmel Fire Department Training Center to load vehicles with gifts, holiday meals, and food boxes. Then, in true Santa-like fashion, they’ll head out across the community to deliver these items to families who need a little extra support this season.
If you would like to be part of this uplifting effort, we warmly welcome you to join us on Saturday morning at 9 a.m., at 4925 E. 106th St., Carmel. Your help truly makes a difference.
