Noblesville’s boys picked up their first Hoosier Crossroads Conference win of the season Friday, Dec. 19, holding off county rival Westfield 47-45 at The Mill.
The Millers led 14-8 after the first quarter, with Justin Curry II scoring eight points. Noblesville’s lead increased to 24-15 by halftime.
The Shamrocks began to come back in the third period, cutting the Millers’ advantage to 30-24 by the end of the period. Brock Detamore scored five points in the third.
Westfield poured in 21 points in the fourth, including 10 from Ryan Hunsucker and eight from Detamore. But Noblesville held on for the win, with Curry adding six points and the team going 7 of 8 from the free-throw line during the quarter.
Curry finished with 21 points, while Max Flanagan scored 10. Detamore and Hunsucker both totaled 16 points.
Noblesville is 1-1 in HCC play and 2-4 overall. The Millers host their own Holiday Tournament today, taking on Evansville Reitz at 11:45 a.m. in the first round.
The Shamrocks are 0-2 in the conference and 3-3 overall. They host Richmond on Saturday afternoon.
