Join the Carmel Symphony Orchestra for “Holiday Pops: Spirit of the Season”

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s (CSO) Holiday Pops: Spirit of the Season presented with the support of IU Health is only four days away. Secure your tickets now for a classic celebration for the whole family.

Experiencing a live symphony orchestra performing these holiday favorites creates memories that will remain long after the last note sounds. A visit from ol’ St. Nick adds to the festivities.

There are two concerts set for Sunday, Dec. 14. The 2 p.m. Matinee, which is one hour in length without intermission, is perfect for families with small children. The 7 p.m. full concert is an elegant experience, perfect for celebrating the holidays. Both concerts are performed at the Payne & Mencias Palladium at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts.

Conductor Kelly Kuo will lead the symphony through some of your favorite seasonal pieces, which will surely get you in the holiday spirit. Currently Music Director of the Reno Chamber Orchestra and Associate Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater, Kuo has consistently championed the development of the next generations of musical talent and demonstrated a commitment to innovative programming, creative initiatives and advocacy of underrepresented voices in the concert hall.

Performing with the symphony will be Don Farrell narrating The Snowman and child performer, Felix Radomski singing a solo. During the evening performance, in addition to narrating The Snowman, Farrell will be adding vocal performances to White Christmas, The Christmas Song and What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? 

Farrell has more than 38 years as a professional singer, dancer, actor, director, choreographer, and producer with credits that include Off-Broadway, International and National Tours, Las Vegas, Regional productions, and guest soloist concerts with major national symphonies. A proud member of Actors’ Equity Association since 1992, his credits include seven world premieres and more than 100 different production credits.

Radomski is a sophomore at Brebeuf Jesuit where he sings in the Varsity Choir. He has been singing with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC) for the past seven years. ICC is his second home. Earlier this year, he was the soloist for both the Ball State University and the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s performances of Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms.” He hopes to pursue a career in music and sound engineering.

“This event has traditionally been presented by IU Health and we are thankful that the organization again sees the value of partnering with the CSO to promote the enjoyment of classical music in this seasonal setting,” CSO Board Chair Nancy Sutton said.
