Jason Dobbins, a custodian at Hamilton Heights Student Activity Center and High School, has been named the Husky Hero for November.
Dobbins, who has worked primarily at the high school for nine years, is known for building strong relationships with students – especially those in the Life Skills program.
Dobbins is well-liked, respected, and is the type of individual people can turn to when they have a problem. He also enjoys the connections with the students, watching them grow each year, and building relationships throughout the district.
Here is what Summer Bailey, Hamilton Heights Student Resource Coordinator, had to say about Dobbins:
“I have watched Jason make time to talk and interact with the students from the high school life skills class. Some of these students are nonverbal but have grown to recognize Jason and respond favorably to his presence. He embodies the spirit of inclusion and acceptance, making each student feel seen and valued. Jason is a true Husky Hero.”
HHSC Facility Director Dori Hochstedler added, “He goes out of his way to provide whatever a student needs and is always willing to do whatever it takes to get a job done. Jason is caring, compassionate, and never hesitates to help students and staff. He also prioritizes the safety of our students, staff, and building.”

“I was shocked and honored when I learned I had been nominated as a Husky Hero,” said Dobbins, who is motivated by helping students and staff feel safe and seen. “There are so many deserving people throughout the district. I am humbled to be recognized.”
