Two outstanding students were recognized with Hamilton Southeastern Schools’ highest honor during the Mudsock basketball game on Friday, Dec. 19 at the Fishers Event Center.
Blair Satterfield and Ellie Taylor were named recipients of the Superintendent’s Impact Award, now in its second year. The award recognizes individuals who exemplify Honor, Scholarship, and Excellence through leadership and service.
Presented by Superintendent Patrick Mapes, the award was established to celebrate individuals whose impact reaches beyond personal achievement.
“The Superintendent’s Impact Award was created to recognize individuals who don’t just succeed, but who lift others through their leadership, character, and commitment to excellence,” Mapes said. “Blair and Ellie represent the very best of Hamilton Southeastern Schools, and their impact will be felt long after their time here.”
Blair Satterfield
A senior at Hamilton Southeastern High School, Satterfield is a standout student-athlete and leader who was recently honored as the 2025 IHSAA Theresia Wynns Mental Attitude Award recipient, one of the highest honors in Indiana high school athletics.
A four-year varsity soccer starter and team captain, she has earned numerous accolades, including All-State, Academic All-State, and the Senior SAGE Award. Beyond athletics, she has served in Student Government and multiple leadership organizations, while also giving back through community service and entrepreneurial efforts. Known for her humility, integrity, and positive leadership, she exemplifies what it means to lead by example.
Ellie Taylor
Ellie Taylor, a 2025 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, earned first place nationally in Agricultural Communications Proficiency at the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, one of the highest distinctions an FFA member can receive.
During her time at HSE, she served as both a chapter and district FFA officer and led the expansion of the HSE FFA media program across social media, print, and in-person outreach. She also founded and continues to lead agricultural advocacy platforms that elevate awareness and education within the industry. Now a freshman at Purdue University, she is dual-majoring in Agricultural Communication and Agricultural Sales and Marketing while remaining actively involved in campus leadership organizations.
The Superintendent’s Impact Award reflects Hamilton Southeastern Schools’ ongoing commitment to recognizing excellence, leadership, and service among its students and staff.
