Guerin Catholic’s boys made it a Bishop’s Cup sweep in the night game of the girls/boys doubleheader, beating Lafayette Central Catholic 71-31 Friday, Dec. 19 at the Eagles Nest.
The Class 3A No. 8 Golden Eagles outscored the Knights in each of the four quarters, leading 13-11 after the first period. Guerin Catholic then powered through the second quarter for a 39-17 advantage, then poured in 22 more points in the third quarter.
Jake Grissom scored 21 points, followed by Carter Murans and Andrew Reithman with 10 points each. Reithman led the rebounds with six, followed by Murans with five. Hayden Rogers dished out four assists.
The Golden Eagles are 4-2 and are idle until Jan. 2 when they play in the Ray Furney Classic at Lawrenceburg.
