Carmel’s boys stayed perfect for the season after two lopsided wins this past weekend on Bill Shepherd Court at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
On Friday, Dec. 19, the Greyhounds rolled over rival North Central 77-39. Carmel led 22-9 after one quarter, then dominated the second period by outscoring the Panters 31-5. That gave the Hounds a 53-14 halftime lead; the entire second half was played with a running clock.
Evan Harrell led the way with a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds. Ten different Carmel players scored, with Aiden Dickerson adding nine points and collecting seven rebounds. Cash Daniels scored eight points and dished out six assists. Adler Cole had five rebounds.
The Greyhounds hosted Kokomo on Saturday, Dec. 20 and beat Kokomo 68-48. Carmel led 35-28 at halftime before powering through the third quarter, when the Hounds outscored the Wildkats 21-9.
Harrell poured in 28 points and pulled six rebounds. Daniels put together a double-double of 17 points and 14 assists, also making four steals. Julian Vogt threw in three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points, while Dickerson contributed 10 points and five rebounds. Jamichael Fountain also collected five rebounds.
Carmel is 5-0 and plays in the Paul Loggan Memorial Tournament next week. The Greyhounds take on last year’s Class 4A state champion Jeffersonville on Monday, Dec. 29 and Lake Central on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
